I still do remember a person who were too much desperate to get some money to get his daughter married. This is not the every next story just because the person were neither a tramp nor a poor. He was a 'B' grade officer in the Mumbai municipal corporation.
I used to go there as to get reports of the happenings there. I had to went through him scores of times and each time i find that he has all his attention to get his daughter married. One day i could not help my inquisitiveness and asked him that how much money he needed. Without a stint he replied 40 lakhs. I was both surprised and shocked, went down the building thinking about the real things. But soon i come to know that Mr. X has fixed a deal with an IAS whose family were demanding such big buck as dowry to let their son marry his daughter. Is this where our bureaucrats gets their training from. Family is the first institution to install morals in a person. Can we expect that this guy (an IAS) will help the nation to withdraw stigma like dowry.
